Dear Tattoo Collectors and Enthusiasts, please read this message and share it with (y)our friends.
My name is Kelly Miller, I’ve been professionally tattooing for 35 years, hundreds of thousands of hours, and finished tens of thousands of those tattoos. I have been around the block a time or two and have a clear understanding of how the Tattoo Profession works, how the Convention Circuit has changed and (now) works, and how gypsies, professional scratchers and unscrupulous Con job organizers work hard to (unduly) influence the tattoo profession.
I also have a clear understanding how the trade media and a few unscrupulous convention organizers created the CON JOB FAIR CIRCUIT, that now has the profession deep into a (worldwide) perpetual recession, and how the Trade media actually (helps) keeps the con job fair circuit in a position to take advantage and overwhelm the entire tattoo profession everywhere, including (our) City and beloved Clients.
I have also experienced the carnage to the tattoo profession the “open blood letting” at con job fair events have had on the rest of the profession, how those events have negatively effected the actual (art) of tattoo, and how you the Collector/ Enthusiasts, are unable to access the gypsies that did their tattoo at the local con job fair when the Job fair is over and the gypsies are gone on to work over the next group of enthusiasts.
With this information I clearly understand that the local market belongs to the local professionals. Not to the traveling Gypsies or the unscrupulous con job fair organizers.
Please take the following statement as being perfectly clear. I Kelly Miller 100% supports Professional Tattoo Conventions organized by those fine people that respect local artists and the local enthusiasts, and leave the local market alone and intact.
And in support of the entire profession,
I ENCOURAGE ALL ENTHUSIASTS TO SUPPORT ALL CONVENTIONS THAT DO NOT OFFER OPEN TATTOOING, ANYWHERE.
Professional Conventions are good. Con job fairs for professional gypsies are bad.
What I do not support, and am asking all of you, including my client to not support, is the “ Open to the Public Blood Letting” at professional tattoo events and gatherings that have been (set-up) for traveling tattoo gypsies to converge on any given location and tattoo the general public.
These events are very disrespectful and harmful to the local Professionals, and contribute noting to the local market the rest of the year, and clearly step on the toes of the local market with the weight of 300, 1000 lb Bully's.
These open blood letting events are nothing more than highway robbery, with access provided to the Gypsies by the Unscrupulous con job fair organizers, and the local city council authorities that do not support local professionals, that support their fine City the rest of the year.
Tattoo Conventions are not like the Outdoor Retail Convention, Professional Tattooers do not sell multiple things to people in-bulk, not even at these con job fairs. And they DO NOT stimulate the local market. TATTOO CON JOB FAIRS take real opportunities and real jobs from local citizens and local professionals that pay to live here.
Professional tattooers apply their Time one client at a time. Every gypsy allowed to work in our area on a temporary bases at these con job fairs robs our local Service providers (tattooers) of opportunity and income that we use to pay (license Fees and Taxes) to the city, so the (CITY) to “hold secure” our local market.
City Councils everywhere are clearly ignoring this situation for the Licensed Professionals Tattooers in their area. If City Councils won’t/don/t stand up for the local professionals that pay their salary and the taxes for the city, maybe it’s time for a law suit to stop the blood letting.
Open Blood letting in Public is unhealthy on it’s face.
The real important point I am trying to make here is, and this is very important and can not be done without the support of most ALL Collectors and Enthusiasts everywhere.
The point is; The Tattoo Profession seriously needs the local Enthusiasts and Collectors and all serious professional tattooers to step in and help turn the Profession around for the benefit of the local Artists and the overall profession.
If we do this together we will all help improve the lives of serious tattoo professionals, and seriously improve the tattoo workthat is going to be done for a long time into the future.
Please support the Art of Tattoo and the Future of Fine Tattooing everywhere.
Please BOYCOTT ALL CON JOB FAIRS, DURING THE 2017-2018 SEASON,
Especially, Boycott the Salt Lake International Tattoo Convention this year, and all other job fair events that host the traveling gypsies and open Blood letting over the next couple of years.
